Beautiful, mystical, and vibrant state of Rajasthan is one of the most visited places in India by the visitors all around the globe. It is a place of beautiful safaris, spectacular sand dunes, blend of rich cultural heritage spot, and offers lush forests of Aravalis, one of the oldest mountain range of India. The state of Rajasthan is located in Northwestern region of India and Jaipur is its capital city.

1. Ajmer:

The city of Ajmer is located in the central Rajasthan. This place is a very popular pilgrimage for both Muslim and Hindu. The history of Ajmer is very diverse as it was ruled by many Muslim and Rajputana dynasties. As a result, this city comprises of various cultures and civilization. Taragarh Fort in Ajmer is said to be the very first hill fort of Asia.

2. Alwar

Alwar is a beautiful town nestled between small hills of the Aravalli mountain range. It is located about 150 Km from Jaipur and approximately 170 Km from Delhi. It is a historic town with its rich cultural heritage. City has many beautiful lakes and a very scenic landscape.

3. Bikaner

Bikaner is one of the most popular tourists destination located in northern region of Rajasthan. Bikaner was founded by Rao Bikaji, the Rathore prince. It was once very important trading route to the West Asian countries. It is popularly called as the camel country because of its world famous camel ride. Apart from the world famous camel ride, city is rich in its architectural wealth in its wonderful forts, temples and palaces. Impressive palaces and sculptured temples in red and yellow sand stones exhibit some of the excellent creations of the Rajput civilization.

4. Mount Abu

Mount Abu is a very pleasant retreat set in the midst of a lush forested hills. It is a green oasis in the middle of the deserted state of Rajasthan. It is located on the southernmost tip of the Aravali mountain range. The place is rich in flora and fauna that includes the coniferous trees.

5. Udaipur

Udaipur was once the capital city of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar which was ruled by the Sisodia clan. It is India’s one of the most romantic city. Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, the old city is dominated by the cupola-crowned City Palace located at Lake Pichola. This is also termed as City of Lakes – some of the important and beautiful lakes are Udai Sagar, Lake Pichola, Swaroop Sagar and Fateh Sagar Lake.

6. Bundi

Bundi offers some of the very striking palaces, havellis and temples which are beautifully decorated with stone idols and chattris with carved pillars. Lakes in the middle of the town added extra beauty to its charm. Bundi is also famous for its complex wall paintings. The Taragarh Fort on the top of the hill overlooking the city was constructed in 1354 AD is the most important tourist location. The Bundi Palace is situated on the hillside adjacent to the Taragarh Fort is notable for its traditional murals and frescoes.

7. Luni

Luni is located 35 kms away from Jodhpur. This small place reflects the rural fascination of Rajasthan. It is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. This small village is home to many craftsmen and artisans who build stunning metal, clay, and wooden carved products. Fort Chanwa in Luni is an exceptional piece of sophistication of Indian Architecture.

8. Jaipur

Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. It is amidst the rugged hills of the Aravallis mountain range. Jaipur is the precious gemstone in the middle of desert sands. Jaipur offers some of the very amazing architecture. The city offers exclusive amalgamation of culture to experience and to be appreciated. In the month of January, Jaipur celebrates 3 day International kite festival starting from 13th or 14th.

9. Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, which was once a quiet desert city has transformed into a major tourist destination of India. It is located in the middle of the scenic Thar Desert. It is one of the most acclaimed destinations among the tourist around the world. Jaisalmer Fort is the most acclaimed historical monuments that you ill noticed here distinctively. The fort is made up of beautiful sand stones. The city is best known for the old mansions called as Havelis. Among several havellis the most striking ones are Salim ji ki haveli and Nathmal ji ki haveli. The blend of ancient and the medieval architecture will catch your fantasy.

10. Bharatpur

Bharatpur is very well known for its bird sanctuary. Another very interesting place to see in Bharapur is the Lohagarh Fort which was built by the famous ruler of Bharatpur named Maharaja Suraj Mal. The Fort has 3 palaces within its boundaries.It is worth a visit.
