Those who are planning a visit to Pacific Northwest here are the list of top 10 places to visit in the city of Seattle. Seattle is the major city in the Pacific Northwest sharing its border with Canada.



1. Seattle Center: The Seattle Center is the most happening place of the city. It was built in the year 1962 as the United States Science Pavilion during the Seattle World’s Fair. It is a 74-acre complex which has Seattle Opera, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Repertory, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Key Arena. There is a famous 60 foot tall Space Needle. It is perhaps the most recognizable landmark of Seattle. Elevator takes you up to the observation deck, restaurant and bar. Seattle Center also offers laser shows, IMAX movies. There is a 90 second monorail ride from Seattle Center which takes you to Westlake shopping center in the downtown.


2. The Museum of Flight: The Museum of Flight is located South of Seattle Downtown. The museum permanently exhibits more than 150 historic air and spacecraft and other related artifacts. There is a flight simulator rides which is a real fun thing to do. It features 3D projectors that brings life to this ride.


3. Pike Place Market: It is the most famous, oldest and crowded market in Seattle. This place is full of life. You will find garden fresh fruits, vegetable, flowers, pastries and other snacks at a very reasonable rates. Don’t miss to go there.


4. Pioneer Square: Pioneer Square is a historic site which was once the heart of the city. It is a neighborhood in the southwest corner of the Downtown Seattle. The founders of the Seattle were settled in this area in the year 1852.The early building structures were mostly wooden but it was all burned in the Great Seattle Fire of 1889. Later it was changed by a stone and brick structures.


5. Washington Park Arboretum: The Washington Park Arboretum is a 230-acre green area in the heart of the city. It is located on the shores of Lake Washington. The park offers wide variety of plants and trees. It has the famous and most beautiful Japanese Garden located at the south end of the park. It is a great place to enjoy your weekend.


6. Argosy Cruise tour: From last 60 years, public are enjoying the Argosy Cruise tour which takes you to the most breathtaking views of area in and around Seattle. It provides both public and private cruises around the Puget Sound area. There are 9 vessels which will take you to the various attractions like Harbor cruises, Lakes, Locks and many others.


7. The Boeing Plant: The Boeing Plant tour or The Future of Flight Tour is located in Mukilteo, Washington which is 25 miles north of Seattle. Public tours are available 7 days a week. You will able to see 747, 767, 777 and 787, Dreamliner being built for various airline customers around the world. It is the largest building in the world by volume. If you are sure about the timing, book tickets for the tour in advance especially in the weekend.


8. The Underground Tour: It is a famous guided walking tour under the Seattle’s streets and sidewalks. You will see subterranean passages beneath the street which were once the main roadways of the old downtown Seattle. This historic walk of the underground downtown is about 3 blocks in area.


9. Duck Tour: Visitors of all ages love to ride on a Duck Tour. This is an adventure tour which will take you to the streets of downtown Seattle by narrating the historical information about the city of Seattle, and culture. At the end it will splash you into the water to see the breathtaking view of the skyline Seattle.


10. Seattle Aquarium: The Seattle Aquarium offers fun ways to see the underwater creatures. This aquarium is nationally recognized aquatic center which was built in the year 1977 by the City of Seattle. It is located on Pier 59, near the Puget Sound’s Elliott Bay.
