Beautiful Columbia River Gorge

Columbia River Gorge is one of the most beautiful sites in the state of Oregon for year round recreational and outdoor activities like hiking, biking, camping. Even a drive to a historic Columbia River Highway is a great way to enjoy your day. Columbia River is the second largest river in North America. Apart from this majestic river, it also offers several beautiful waterfalls.

Troutdale:

Troutdale is called as the gateway to the Columbia River Highways. Troutdale in Oregon is a small historic town. It offers 2 historic museums, outlet mall, and specialty shops.


View points and Vistas:

Portland Women’s Forum State Scenic Viewpoint is one of the most popular points which offer breathtaking views on the highway. From this point you can see the view of the gorge along with the beautiful Vista House. The scenic Vista House from this point looks amazing. It is also photographer’s favorite place. Little far from Women’s Forum, there is a Vista House. It is also one of the most photographed sites in the Historic Columbia River Highway. The Vista House is actually a memorial to the Oregon’s pioneers, as well as an observatory.


Spectacular falls:

Columbia River Gorge is full of spectacular waterfalls. Few of the waterfall that you must visits here are Bridal Veil Falls, Wahkeenah Falls, Multnomah Falls, Horsetail Falls, Punch Bowl Falls. Multnomah Falls is the most photographed falls in this region.


The Dalles:

The Columbia Highways ends in The Dalles. There are numerous recreation opportunities in The Dalles. Every year huge numbers of visitors come here for windsurfing, fishing and camping. The city of Dalles offers spectacular scenery for photography as well. It has always been a great destination in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
