1. Feel the famous battles of gladiator at the Colosseum

The famous battles between the gladiators, wild animals, and slaves, all take place right here at the Colosseum. You will go back in the history that is dated AD 72 at this Flavian amphitheatre where exactly the battles took place. It was a huge arena where it houses a seating arrangement for more than 50,000 people. Once you are here, you can actually feel the glorious past of the mighty Romans.


2. Inspired by one of the oldest public gallery of the Capitoline

The Capitoline Museums comprises of one of the world’s oldest public gallery. The art of one of the world famous painter and sculptor Michelangelo can be seen here at Capitoline. It is located in the twin palaces just opposite to piazza del Campidoglio. The Museums have 3 main buildings adjacent to the Piazza del Campidoglio and they are being connected through an underground gallery under the piazza. The 3 main buildings are Palazzo Senatorio (originally built in the 12th century), Palazzo dei Conservatori (originally built in the mid-16th century) and Palazzo Nuovo(originally built in the 17th century). In addition, the 16th century Palazzo Caffarelli-Clementino, located off the piazza adjacent to the Palazzo dei Conservatori, was added to the museum complex in the early 20th century. It was opened to the public back in 1734. Once you are there, you will be amazed by the work of great Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, and Caravaggio.


3. Walk around the Gardens of the Villa Borghese

The gardens of villa Borghese is the second largest public park in Rome after Villa Doria Pamphili. It consists of a huge landscape garden with several artistic buildings, museums, and other attractions. It is a peaceful retreat from all the hustle and bustle of the city area. Apart from the huge lush green landscape, the garden also houses museums, lake, a bio park, ice skating piste. There are several beautiful fountains throughout the garden. It is also very popular among regular joggers and dog-walkers.


4. Amazed by the geometry at the Pantheon

You will be amazed to see one of the most well preserved building of the Rome, The Pantheon. It was built by Hadrian in and around AD 119-128. Originally, it was built as a temple for the deities and even today, it is remained as a church. There area tombs of the artist Raphael and united Italy’s first king inside the Pantheon. The geometry of the building is such that the dome’s diameter is exactly equal to the total height of the building. This geometry offers this building to hold an ideal sphere.


5. Check out the Trevi Fountain

It is one of the hot spot in the city of Rome, where you will see visitors from all around the world hanging around and posing for the photograph. As it is a place always surrounded by the people, who throws their good luck coins in the water, it has become a huge collection ground for the Red Cross. Nearby this fountain, there is a La Città dell’Acqua, which consists of the ruins of an Imperial-age apartment building as well as a holding tank for the waters of the Acqua Vergine, which gushes below.
